Hello everyone! I'll be at Otakuthon in Montreal this weekend (August 7th to 9th) @ Table 1734! I'm sharing with a friend. This is my first year tabling at this con, so I'm pretty excited. It's only me (Isa) this time. Come get your Namesake and Crow goodies, Meg sent me a bunch of stuff for the con, including prints!

I love how this illustration turned out. Ozma is Frieren, Elaine is (abstracting) Pomni, and Emma is Chell from Portal. Frieren and Pomni fit Ozma and Elaine almost too well. Emma makes a great Chell, always nice to draw her muscles and think about Portal again...

Thank you to everyone who left well-wishes for me (Meg) last week! My hand is healing well, and surgery was indeed an experience I get to check off the bucket list. The big bandage/splint is off and I get the stitches out next week.

When I finished the piece, I realized it looks a bit like Jack Pumpkinhead is a shadow. He's not! He's a good boy! I love him!

Yes! Yes it's the scene from the Oz books where Tip gets changed back to Ozma! I'm so AMPED to draw this!!

If the scene or the characters in it look familiar, this is another point of view of a scene we saw in the Emily Gale chapter. Her twin became Mombi, Mombi held Ozma / Tip prisoner, and now she got caught by Glinda the Good Witch of the South, along with the Glinda guards, that we saw in like....Chapter 8? Wow!

For anybody wondering why Glinda is the Good Witch of the South, and not the Witch of the North, the South is her domain in the Oz books, the iconic 1939 MGM film combined her character with the Good Witch of the North. Book Glinda is a bit more of a wise badass than the northern versions of Glinda we can find in the MGM film or Wicked, but I love all versions of Glinda, personally! I also like that Book Glinda is associated with Red, while alternative Glindas are usually pink. That's so cute.
